 Sri Lanka's Transport in Times of Poly-crisis

The research is based on logistics and maritime transport sector in Sri Lanka. It contains three major criteria under that topic. 

1. Overview of logistics and maritime transport sector in Sri Lanka.[1]
2. Sri Lanka's logistics and maritime transport landscape in the context of  Poly-crisis.[1]
3. Role of alternative energy in de-carbonising the maritime and logistic sector.[1]

This criteria covers the given topic and the readers can have an idea about how the transportation in Sri Lanka used to be, how it is now, and what are the improvements that it can make in the future. This discussion marks the importance, advantages and disadvantages of logistics and maritime transportation in Sri Lanka based on its location, capabilities and advanced technology.

While those criteria are well-defined, the research article certainly can be more structured as in it can be  divided into parts like introduction, findings and key points, methodologies. Along with this structure it allows the researcher to be more precise with their findings and give a better understanding to the  readers as well. For instance, the introduction should be able to be used as a thesis statement to explain what the research is conducted on. That can be useful to the readers as they will get an idea on what they are going to refer. The researcher will also be able to organise their findings in a much more useful and efficient way.

The first criteria which is about the overview contains the advantage of the location of Sri Lanka to its maritime transportation. This includes the three major ports (Colombo port, Hambanthota port, and Trincomalee port) and their contribution to the Sri Lankan transportation, geopolitical value as well as the capabilities of Sri Lanka. Although this research shows the percentages of the contribution of the ports to this country, it should also contain some clear structure. Then the research will be more useful to identify problems and find solutions for those in the future of maritime transportation.

Second criteria marks the context of logistics and transportation in times of poly-crisis. Here, the research shows the analytics based on the poly-crisis occurred in the past few years not only in Sri Lanka but all over the world. (COVID-19 pandemic, Economic crisis, maritime disaster). As maritime disaster happened to Sri Lanka, this mentions the X- press pearl disaster.

This research explains how the crisis affected to the export and import market as well as thee reputation of Sri Lankan maritime transportation. Same as previous it can be more structured as to organise the analytical findings in a more abstract way like, pollution percentage, time needed to recover from those crisis.

In conclusion, while the research article includes lot of good information and findings, it has a shortage of structure and organisation of findings. the research article will be more understandable if used a more well-defined structure.
