Critical Review of “Car Rental System” by Amey Thakur (2021) - (UOG1124001)
The system development process includes defining objectives, doing a feasibility analysis, functional and non-functional
requirements, and Diagrams models like Data Flow Diagrams, ER diagrams, Use
Case diagrams. The implementation section provides
screenshots of both the front-end and back-end of the system, also sample
PHP code for database connectivity. This shows us that customers can
successfully register, log in, book vehicles, and receive confirmation. The
author concludes that online systems big improvement and
accessibility for customers compared to traditional physical car rental
services.
Discussing about the Good things about this article, there is a clear Structure. The article follows a good structure from problem identification to implementation, making it easy to understand even it is a intern. The author clearly shows the main points and get the attraction of the readers. Also practical Contribution from the researchers is highlighted. Includes screenshots, diagrams, and code snippets, demonstrating the real development of the system rather than only theoretical discussion.
The functional and non-functional requirements are well-defined, showing understanding of user needs and system expectations. So it can be easier to develop this System because of the better structure. The developers can easily identify user requirement as they mentioned. Also it shows the data base connectivity with code sniped. Useful Feasibility Study shows The inclusion of operational, technical, and economic feasibility for the system. It also a good thing. Furthermore there is a good references in this article.
Also there have some limitations in this article. the first thing is the short topic It is too short and can't get a good idea about the system. If it is a descriptive topic the readers can get a better idea before it read. we can use a topic like Web based PHP car rental system so readers can geta a more idea. Also there is no much more technical detailed in this article. The article didn't mention about the security of the implement system. It is a major limitation of this article. The literature review section is brief and does not critically analyze previous systems or identify gaps in existing solutions.
This article helped me understand how a basic online car
rental system can be developed from requirement gathering to implementation,
using standard software engineering practices. I learned the importance of
functional and non-functional requirements, also how diagrams support
system development. The study is good as a student-level project,
but for real-world application, additional improvements would be required.
Finally the article serves as a good guide to designing a simple web-based car rental system using PHP and MySQL. The strengths of the paper show its structured approach, practical implementation, and feasibility analysis. However, the research would be more helpful if it included critical comparison with existing systems, detailed testing results, security measures, and integration of modern web technologies.

ReplyDeleteYour review is clear and balanced. It highlights key strengths like structure and practicality, and mentions limitations such as lack of detail and security. Well done, just try to make it a bit more concise and polished. 👍
ReplyDeleteyeah contrary to orthodoxic ways which you have to physically go and purchase a car it's extremely innovative and timesaving to use a car rental system on the other hand cause you're not their physically you can't be completely sure about the quality of the car ,and i kinda agree with the author on the innovation brought with the car rental systems still for a huge complex product with sophisticated mechanics ,ordering without physically being their can be considered as a huge risk and more time wasteful cause it you get the wrong product you'll have to change it again
ReplyDeleteGreat review! You clearly explained the strengths and weaknesses of the car rental system. I like how you connected the system's features to real-world use.
ReplyDeleteGreat review! You explained the article clearly and covered both its strengths and weaknesses very well. I like how you mentioned the practical parts like diagrams, code, and feasibility study — it shows you understood the technical side.
ReplyDeleteThis is a well-organized review. It effectively summarizes the article’s purpose, methods, strengths, and limitations. You show good understanding of software development concepts and practical implementation. Adding a brief note on how security or modern technologies could improve the system would make it even stronger.
ReplyDeleteClear and balanced review. Good understanding shown, but needs better grammar and less repetition.
